Michael Yim, M.S. - Senior Analyst
Key Areas of Expertise: Renewable Energy Technologies - Risk Analysis - Distribution Networks - Simulation/Stochastic Modeling - Engineering Analysis
Michael Yim is a Senior Analyst at Summit Blue. His areas of expertise include renewable energy technologies, risk analysis, distribution networks, simulation/stochastic modeling, and engineering analysis. He has most recently begun to focus his efforts on the evaluation of energy efficiency programs and performance measurement.
Mr. Yim's past experience includes working with the Purdue Energy Modeling Research Group (PEMRG) and State Utility Forecasting Group (SUFG) to update and analyze the Indiana natural gas distribution linear program model. This model assessed the economic and physical congestion risk stemming from variations in system wide demand and supply characteristics. He also played an active role in writing the 2005 Renewable Energy Resources Study for submission to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. This study tracked market trends for numerous renewable technologies being deployed in Indiana. Prior to his work in the energy field, Mr. Yim focused on improving operational efficiencies in various production environments. His most recent engagement was with AMAX Engineering Corporation where he helped to streamline and improve their computer assembly lines by utilizing simulation, supply chain management practices, and forecasting methodology.
Mr. Yim obtained his M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University with a focus on supply chain management and logistics systems. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley.
