Michael Ozog has worked in the energy and water industries for over 15 years specializing in energy modeling, demand forecasting, discrete-choice modeling, risk management and program evaluation. He is a recognized expert in the area of energy efficiency program evaluation, and has conducted evaluations for electric and gas utilities throughout North America. Dr. Ozog also has an extensive background in econometric and time-series modeling for load forecasts, peak-demand forecasts and short-term retail price forecasting.
Dr. Ozog has used portfolio theory and options modeling to assist in the valuation of generation assets. He has conducted analyses for EPRI, Northwest Energy Alliance, U.S. DOE, U.S. EPA and numerous private utility clients. In addition to his experience in the electric and natural gas markets, Dr. Ozog also has extensive experience in water demand analysis, including price elasticity studies and rate design. This experience includes serving as a rate analyst for a municipal water utility.
Dr. Ozog's research has been published in Environmental and Resource Economics, Southern Economic Journal, Energy Policy, Energy Services Journal and the Energy Journal, as well as in numerous national conference proceedings. Dr. Ozog holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College, an M.S. in Mineral Economics from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in Geology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
